HISTORY:

Earlier, long before the rubber stamps existed were the first stamps produced by hand in different countries.

For rubbing out lead pencil marks, cubes were made, but the material was unstable at a higher temperature. Charles Goodyear solved the problem in 1839.

He accidentally spilled a mixture of gum rubber and Sulfur in a hot stove. The process cured the problems of rubber, and the process was then named vulcanization after Roman God of fire. Goodyear patented this process in 1844.

By the early 1800s, some other marking devices were also available in the market. Unfortunately, the actual inventor of the rubber stamp is not bright.

There are several claimants of the inventor of rubber stamps like Woodruff and Wither ell.

RAW MATERIALS:

The raw material for Trodat rubber stamps comprises of latex rubber, wood, adhesive and adhesive labels. The stamp makers do not produce marks directly from the raw materials. Particular manufacturers produce them and supply it to them.

The company also provides some custom artworks on the customer's demands like the name stamps. Also, there are certain limitations on custom stamps like the letter limit and much more. Although any custom stamps can be made.

THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS:

1.Firstly select A DESIGN FOR MAKING RUBBER STAMP, then it is scanned, and multiple copies are made and are transferred to the aluminum plate for manufacture. After putting the aluminum plate in acid, the design raised above the plate.

2.The finally engraved plate is placed on a sheet of Bakelite, which is used to produce finely detailed molds.

The process in which crude or synthetic rubber is treated with heat and pressure to alter its properties of strength and chemical stability is known as vulcanization. In the early days, the vulcanizers were developed as a part of the rubber tire industry, but now they are used in fibers, polymers, and other materials.

3.Sheets of photopolymer are also used instead of the rubber. To form negative transparency, it is applied in liquid form and is protected by a thin plastic film. In a photo relief printing plate machine, the whole sandwich-like structure is placed. Due to the UV light resin transfers the image. Then the resin is dried.

4.Skilled hand labor is required in most of the steps. The adhesive on both sides of the sheet is pressed into the rubber sheets. Then the stamp is cut using scissors very precisely so that unwanted parts are removed. Some patches are cut using clicker press.

5.On a specially sized block of maple, the backside of the stamp has adhered. By changing temperature and humidity, it is ensured that the design will not distort by aging. Exceptional care is required for the marks, so they are hand mounted.

6.Stamps like date stamps some other steps are involved as a variety of strips are made with dates engraved on them and then placed on metal mounts can are placed in such a way so that they can be rotated as a dial.
